Fedex is terrible. UPS is so much better as they actually deliver packages and knock on your door to see if you home. My mom was watching out for my package all day and fedex I guess came. She didn’t see it when she stepped away for 5 minutes. They never knocked they just left. Now I’m sitting outside in my car, having to take the day off from work. I’m not even sure if it’s on the truck for delivery. Ugh

All the morning long I was waiting for my delivery and never went out off house…I got the mail around 1:30 pm, that delivery guy was at my house 11:01 and there was nobody at home? Really? There is a number, he can call if he has any questions…why nobody called me? This is ridiculous. And the customer service I called in for that was even next level terrible…FedEx is my last choice for any reason!

About FedEx Tracking

FedEx has two main shipping procedures, FedEx Ground shipping and FedEx Express shipping. Both of them vary in time of delivery and shipping costs. If a customer wants to ship a package and is not in a hurry, use FedEx Ground shipping service that takes 1-5 business days, or 3-7 business days if the package has to be delivered to Alaska or Hawaii.  

Once FedEx knows the recipient's location, they can use FedEx Track for the exact location of the parcel and to know when the parcel will arrive. FedEx Ground is one of the most used services of the company.  

For customers with tighter deadlines, they can use FedEx Express shipping. Here, customers can send the package on a specific day and select from different priority delivery options. FedEx tracking is available in this option as well.  

FedEx Tracking

FedEx has one of the most versatile tracking services available. These services are FedEx Tracking, FedEx Advanced Tracking and FedEx Insight.  

FedEx Tracking is an all-purpose tracking tool that is available at the official FedEx website. All the user has to do is enter the FedEx tracking number or order number, the customer can get near real time updates without logging inAll the user has to do is enter the FedEx tracking number or order number. They can also customize the names of the shipments in the event of multiple shipments. FedEx trackig offers an estimated delivery window for eligible shipments. All you need is the 12-digit FedEx tracking number assigned to you. FedEx Advanced Tracking is one of the most accurate and powerful tools for parcel tracking. This service gives real time FedEx tracking updates on the parcel's date and time, along with smart intelligence on the predicted route of the package's transit route and other related insights.

How to track FedEx packages?

What is FedEx Design and Print for FedEx tracking?

This new service has thousands of unique design templates and is available both offline in stores and online.  

This service was initially started for making lives easier for small business owners who may not have access to printing services. This service is now widely used all around the world to make custom stationary and social calling cards.  

Customers can place orders in-store or online and can have their items shipped to the nearest FedEx Office location. Expedited delivery options are also available for an additional fee if the customer wants the order within three business days. 



How to contact FedEx tracking for a query about a package?

People who have queries about FedEx tracking, shipment, or just want certain information that is not available on the website can simply go to their Contact Us section and have a live chat with one of their customer service representatives.  

Customer support is also available through email, receiving replies in 1-2 business days.

What to do when a FedEx parcel gets stuck in customs?

Parcels can get delayed as they arrive at customs. But what should one do if their delivery gets stuck in customs with FedEx?  

A customer could:  

  1. Contact the person who shipped you the goods: Check if the person who sent you the parcel has all their paperwork and documents in order to speed up customs processing.
  2. Contact FedEx: FedEx usually contacts everyone in the shipment process to ensure no paperwork is missing and all fees are paid.
  3. Find out if you have any outstanding taxes to pay: Some countries have particular taxes to pay before shipping packages.
  4. Wait: If you’ve done everything right, the only thing you can do is wait for the package to be cleared.


What happens when I miss a FedEx delivery?

FedEx follows a set procedure if no one is there to receive the delivery.  

Should the sender requests that there is a signature required by the receiver, and the receiver is not available, FedEx delivery personnel will leave a note at the door stating the delivery attempt and the next possible time for attempted delivery.  

If the recipient's signature is not required, the delivery personnel would leave the parcel at the doorstep, with a neighbour or at a desired location.  


How do I cancel my FedEx shipment?

You can cancel your shipment online within 12 hours or before the shipping date that is printed on the label. If you did not use the air waybill or you are unable to delete it from the "Shipping History", you will not be charged for transportation charges.  

Follow the steps below to cancel a shipment:  

  • Access FedEx's online shipping tool. You will be asked to log in if you have not already done so.
  • On the new FedEx Ship ManagerTM, click on the "Shipment" tab on the left navigation bar.
  • Select the three-vertical dot next to the shipment you desired to cancel.
  • Click the "Cancel" button.
  • If you have created the pickup for the shipment, please also cancel the pickup.
 

How to ship my package with FedEx?

Follow these steps to learn how to ship your package with FedEx. Alternatively, you can visit any FedEx Office locations for professional help - to learn more about the different shipping options, delivery time, and shipping cost.  

  1. Identify your package’s destination for FedEx.
  2. Are you looking to ship a package within the US (domestically) or to another country (internationally)? FedEx has different guidelines for domestic and international shipments. If you are shipping within the US, proceed to step 2 of this guide. To ship packages internationally, you can refer to FedEx’s International Shipping Guide for instructions to meet the shipping regulations.

  3. Check that your items can be shipped with FedEx.
  4. Depending on the item, different shipment methods apply. If you are shipping larger or fragile items that require special care, you would have to check with FedEx’s Shipping Service Guide to learn more about the prohibited, forbidden, and dangerous goods.

  5. Choose a suitable packaging for your items through FedEx.
  6. There are different types of packaging available: box, envelope, tube, or mailer. Please ensure that your items are properly packed to protect your shipment for a great delivery experience. FedEx offers a wide variety of packing and shipping supplies for you.

  7. Pick your FedEx shipping service.
  8. After you have selected a suitable packaging for your items with FedEx, you need to decide the FedEx shipping service you would like to use. FedEx offers a wide range of shipping services for different timelines and budgets. You can calculate the shipping rates based on your preferred delivery speed and destination.

  9. Create shipping labels with FedEx.
  10. You will need a shipping label for your package in order for FedEx to ship them. Domestic shipping (within the US) labels require sender’s and recipient’s names, addresses, and contact numbers, as well as the weight and type of package.

  11. Declare if additional FedEx delivery options and special services are necessary.
  12. FedEx shipping offers additional services to ensure a convenient shipping experience.

  13. Print and attach your FedEx shipping label.
  14. Once you have printed out your FedEx shipping label, and packed your items, all you need to do is attach the shipping label to your package. Firmly apply the side with adhesive backing onto your package, making sure that the barcode is visible.

  15. Drop off your package to FedEx.
  16. You can drop off your package at any FedEx office locations or drop box. Alternatively, you can also schedule for FedEx to pick up your package from your home or office.
 

Can I track my FedEx package without a FedEx tracking number?

If you do not have a FedEx tracking number but you wish to track your FedEx package and receive live updates, you can do so with the reference number assigned to your shipment. You would have received an update from the online retailer you shopped from, or from FedEx itself; a shipment ID should have been attached to your order.  

Alternatively, you can call FedEx directly at this number: 03456 07 08 09 (open 7:30 am - 7:30 pm, Monday - Friday).  


How do I change the delivery address of my FedEx package?

FedEx will only proceed with the change of address for your FedEx package if you meet the following conditions:  

  • There are no restrictions to address change from the sender
  • The new address is still within the same designated country
  • Your FedEx package has yet to be shipped


You can contact FedEx at 03456 07 08 09 to request for an address change. Additional fees and restrictions may apply. FedEx will look into rerouting and updating the destination address, but it is not guaranteed as it is physically impossible to change the original FedEx air waybill assigned to the shipment.  


Why does my FedEx parcel tracking status say “exception”?

There are some situations preventing FedEx from sending your package. The status “exception” means your package is not being delivered due to an unexpected reason. Here are some of the possible events:  

  • Your FedEx package has been delayed at customs
  • It is a holiday
  • There is missing documentation
  • No one was able to accept delivery of your package
 


Why is my FedEx package stuck in customs?

Do not worry if your FedEx package is stuck in customs. FedEx will resolve held packages. Here are some reasons why your FedEx packages are delayed during the clearance process:  

  • Missing information on clearance paperwork
  • Securing import duty and VAT is required to verify the clearance procedure
  • Gaining representation permission
  • Goods have been held pending instructions from the importer
  • Items are under review by other governmental departments

 

If your package requires any additional information, FedEx will contact you or the shipper. Rest assured that FedEx will take care of your items and make an effort to make the delivery as soon as possible.  


What is FedEx SmartPost?

FedEx SmartPost is a cost-effective service offered in collaboration with FedEx and USPS, an independent branch of the federal government responsible for providing postal services in the United States.  

How does it work? After picking up the parcel from your location, FedEx SmartPost will deliver it to a local post office nearest to your FedEx package’s final destination. USPS will then take over and deliver them to the recipient.  

When compared to FedEx Ground, FedEx SmartPost is more affordable but generally takes two to four days longer. If you want to send multiple packages but do not need it to be as prompt, it is recommended to utilize FedEx SmartPost to deliver your packages.  


How do I track a FedEx SmartPost package from USPS?

FedEx SmartPost is a shipping option with its final delivery provided by USPS. You can still track your FedEx SmartPost packages the same way you would track a regular FedEx package. You just need to enter the FedEx tracking number (shipment ID) with Parcel Monitor’s FedEx tracking service in the “track my order” section to get the latest delivery updates of your FedEx package.  


How does FedEx delivery with USPS?

FedEx delivers with USPS through FedEx SmartPost. USPS is responsible for the last leg of the delivery for FedEx packages. FedEx delivers packages to the nearest post office from the address, USPS then takes over the next day and delivers it to the recipient.  


What is an Air Waybill (AWB) for FedEx?

An Air Waybill (AWB) is known as a FedEx shipping label. The label is generated on FedEx.com with all of the FedEx package’s information as well as the barcode and 12 digit FedEx tracking number. Special handling instructions for your package are also written on the air waybill.  


Where can I drop off a package to FedEx?

If you do not want FedEx to collect your parcel and prefer to drop it off yourself, FedEx has several locations across the country.  

FedEx’s authorised shipping centres nationwide can also assist you in forwarding your FedEx packages to the carrier.  


Can I arrange for FedEx to collect my FedEx parcels?

Yes you can! International Import and Export is made easier with FedEx as FedEx offers delivery to more than 220 countries and territories globally. FedEx’s service is credible, time-efficient, door to door, and customs-cleared with reasonable prices.
Here are the different ways you can arrange a collection with FedEx:  

  • FedEx Ship Manager (FSM) is offered for registered clients. Ship Lite can cater for both registered and non-registered customers.
  • For shipments below 68kgs and within the size limitations, contact FedEx’s Customer Service on 03456 07 08 09 (UK) or 1 800 535 800 (IE).
  • For international shipments over the limited weight and size, contact FedEx’s Freight Customer Services Team on 0800 289 747 (UK) or 01 816 1300 (IE).
 


How do I schedule a pickup for my FedEx package?

You can schedule a pickup for your FedEx package through FedEx’s Pickup page. Your FedEx Express package can also be scheduled for a next-day pickup with FedEx. For customers who already have an Airway Bill set up for your parcels, you can also use FedEx's online pickup tool.  

If you have many shipments to deliver with FedEx within a week, please contact FedEx for assistance.  


How can I schedule a new FedEx package delivery?

Sometimes when a delivery requires a signature and the receiver is not home, FedEx delivery personnel will leave a note at the door stating the delivery attempt and deliver your package to a nearby FedEx Office or other FedEx location. In that case, you can access FedEx's redelivery website to schedule a new delivery with FedEx.  

Upon arriving at the site, a pop-up will prompt you to fill in the required details for a new delivery. All you need to do is to select “By Door Tag” from the drop-down menu, fill in your FedEx shipping tracking, email address, phone number and accept terms and conditions. Lastly, find the best shipment option and a delivery date available for your FedEx package.  


Does FedEx offer free packaging for international FedEx shipments?

For shipments from the UK or Ireland, FedEx will provide free packaging for your International FedEx shipments. FedEx does not offer packaging for domestic shipments. Choose from a wide range of FedEx Express air waybills, pouches, packaging, and labels to fit your needs at no cost.
