What is DPD and what services do they offer?

DPD is a well-known parcel delivery company that started back in 1977 and has grown to operate mainly across Europe, with services reaching other parts of the world too. They focus on delivering packages quickly and reliably, offering a range of options from standard and express deliveries to international shipping. Whether you’re an online shopper waiting for your latest order or a business sending out parcels to customers, DPD handles everything from small packages to larger shipments. They’re especially popular with e-commerce retailers who need dependable delivery solutions, but individual senders can use their services as well. DPD is recognized for its network of local depots and innovative tracking tools, helping you keep an eye on your parcel every step of the way. If you’re expecting a package through DPD, you can usually count on a smooth and professional delivery experience.

What do DPD tracking statuses mean?

When you check your DPD tracking, you’ll see several key statuses that explain where your parcel is. "Picked Up" means DPD has collected your package from the sender and it’s now in their system. "In Transit" shows that your shipment is on the move, traveling between depots or distribution centers. When you see "Out for Delivery," your parcel is on the delivery vehicle and should arrive soon—make sure someone is available to receive it. "Delivered" confirms that your package has reached its destination; if you didn’t get it, check with neighbors or your local depot. Sometimes the status might say "Pending," which means your parcel is awaiting processing or pickup and no further action is needed from you at this stage. Keeping an eye on these updates helps you know exactly when to expect your delivery.

Why is my DPD tracking not updating?

It’s totally normal to feel a bit anxious when your DPD tracking number isn’t showing any new updates—many of us have been there! Often, this happens because your parcel is moving between sorting hubs, and DPD doesn’t always scan every stop along the way, so the tracking might look like it’s paused even though your package is on the move. Plus, weekends and public holidays can slow down updates since scanning activity decreases during those times. If your shipment is coming from abroad, customs checks can also cause a delay in status changes. DPD usually updates their system regularly, but occasional gaps are part of the journey. If your parcel hasn’t budged for several days beyond the expected delivery window, that’s when it might make sense to reach out to DPD directly for more details.

What format is a DPD tracking number?

DPD tracking numbers usually consist of 12 digits and sometimes start with a two-letter prefix like "JD" followed by 10 numbers, for example, JD1234567890. You'll often find your DPD tracking number in your shipping confirmation email or on the retailer's order tracking page. It’s the key to seeing exactly where your package is and when it will arrive. If you’ve got your number handy, simply enter it above to track your DPD package right away and stay updated on its journey until it reaches your doorstep.

How long does DPD take to deliver?

DPD offers several delivery options to fit your needs, with express services typically delivering parcels within 1 to 2 business days domestically, while their standard service usually takes around 2 to 4 days. For international shipments, express deliveries can arrive in as little as 2 to 3 days, but standard or economy options might take anywhere from 4 up to 10 business days, depending on the destination. Keep in mind, delivery times can vary based on the country you’re sending to, customs checks for international packages, and busy periods like holidays. To stay in the loop, you can sign up for notifications and get real-time updates on your parcel’s journey every step of the way.

Is tracking a DPD parcel free?

Yes, tracking your DPD parcel on Parcel Monitor is completely free — no hidden fees, no catch. You don’t even need an account or to sign up just to check your package’s journey. But if you want a little extra magic, creating a free account lets you connect your Gmail, so we can automatically keep an eye on all your shipments without you lifting a finger. How do I get delivery notifications for my DPD parcel?

Tired of constantly refreshing the page to track your DPD delivery? With Parcel Monitor, you’ll get updates the moment your parcel moves, so you can relax and know exactly when it’s on the way. You can get email alerts whenever there’s a status change or even push notifications right on your phone if you grab the app. If you connect your Gmail, it gets even easier—Parcel Monitor automatically finds all your DPD and other deliveries without you typing in any tracking numbers. How do I track a DPD parcel without a tracking number?

Losing or never receiving your DPD tracking number can be frustrating—we totally get it! Usually, if you ordered something online, the tracking info arrives in a separate "your order has shipped" email, so it’s worth checking your inbox and even the spam folder just in case it landed there. If you still can’t find it, don’t worry; reaching out to the retailer directly usually helps since they can pull the tracking number straight from DPD’s system for you. To avoid this hassle in the future, try connecting your Gmail account here—Parcel Monitor will automatically spot all your carrier orders, including DPD, and start tracking them without you having to enter any numbers. It’s a total game-changer, so give it a go and never lose track again!

What are the alternatives to DPD in United Kingdom?

DPD is a popular choice in the UK, known for its reliable delivery network and convenient Predict service that offers precise one-hour delivery windows. However, if you're exploring other options or your retailer uses a different carrier, you might come across alternatives like Royal Mail, which has extensive coverage and a strong national presence, especially for smaller parcels and letters. Hermes (now Evri) is often appreciated for budget-friendly prices and a broad parcel locker network, while UPS is favored for its international express services and business shipments. Each carrier has its own strengths depending on what you need—whether it's speed, price, or delivery options. Luckily, with Parcel Monitor, you can track all these carriers in one place, so no matter who's handling your parcel, you'll always know exactly where it is without juggling multiple apps or websites.
