The driver was very friendly and placed the package, so it was easy for me to empty the contents since it was heavy.

It shouldn't take all day for a package to be delivered

This has been the worst experience I've had with ups there's no transparency I've gotten no updates even after getting all the issues ironed out. It was supposed to be delivered to me today by 7pm I call around 8 and I'm told that it will be here by 9pm I call around 915 and I'm told I'll have to wait until the following day. Not only did I have to put off everything just to be at home to receive the package due to the amount of money I've spent and the shipping restrictions placed by the sender. I've had to also yet again move my entire schedule around because ups can't get their shit together or update someone when there is going to be a delay and thats even after I signed up for their my choice account. To say the least that account and the services it offers are pointless and I'm beyond irritated. Never again will I have them deliver anything I'd rather them take it to a drop point for me to pick up. That would still probably be quicker than what I'm dealing with now

Paid a fortune for a fast delivery of documents, nothing extraordinary, but important papers to be delivered asap, they were taken for days, It would have been less expensive and faster if I took a flight to deliver them myself, never again

Bad tracking updates

I have never been so unhappy with any service before. If I could give minus stars ,I would have gone for it. While I was home all day waiting for my package , I get a missed delivery email. I called the customer care and redirected it to the nearby ups access point. Second day, I receive an email again saying they attempted second delivery and missed it again. I called the customer care, they said ,these requests take more 2 business days to process and submitted a request again. I called the customer again 4 more times, they all gave me different informations and asked me to disregard other agents answers or emails from them. Seriously, I now in confusion to take which information from them into consideration.

What do UPS tracking statuses mean?

When you check your UPS tracking, you'll see different statuses that tell you where your package is. "Picked Up" means UPS has collected your parcel from the sender, so it’s officially on its way. If it says "In Transit," your package is moving through the network, traveling between facilities. No need to act just yet—it's making progress. When you see "Out for Delivery," your parcel is on the delivery truck and should arrive soon, usually that same day. Finally, "Delivered" means your package has reached its destination, so you can expect it at your doorstep or designated spot. Sometimes, you might encounter "Pending," which means UPS is processing your shipment information, and the package hasn’t entered the delivery system yet. If you see this, just wait a bit—updates typically appear shortly after. Keeping an eye on these statuses helps you know exactly when to expect your delivery.

Why is my UPS tracking not updating?

It's completely normal to feel a bit anxious when your UPS tracking number hasn’t updated in a while, but don’t worry—this happens more often than you might think. UPS usually scans packages at key points like sorting centers and delivery hubs, but during the times your parcel is moving between these locations, updates might pause temporarily. Weekends and public holidays also tend to slow down scan activity, so your package might not show new movements during these periods. If your shipment is international, customs checks can add some extra delays, causing the tracking status to stay the same for a few days. Typically, UPS updates tracking info once or twice a day, so a gap is okay. If it’s been several days without any movement, that’s when it’s a good idea to reach out to UPS directly for more details.

What format is a UPS tracking number?

UPS tracking numbers usually have 18 characters, combining letters and numbers, often starting with “1Z,” followed by a mix of digits and uppercase letters. For example, a typical UPS tracking number looks like this: 1Z9999W99999999999. You can find your UPS tracking number in the shipping confirmation email from the seller, on your receipt, or by checking the order details on the retailer’s website. Once you have it, just enter your UPS tracking number above to quickly track your package and see where it is along its journey to you.

How long does UPS take to deliver?

UPS typically offers a range of delivery options to fit different needs. If you choose UPS Express services, you can expect your package to arrive within 1 to 3 business days domestically, while international express shipments usually take about 2 to 5 days, depending on the destination. For standard ground shipping within the same country, delivery often ranges from 3 to 7 business days. Economy options are available too, but they may take longer, especially for international parcels where customs clearance can add extra time. Keep in mind, delivery times can stretch during busy holiday seasons or due to unforeseen delays. To stay in the loop, you can sign up for notifications and get live updates on your specific UPS shipment.

How do I track a UPS parcel without a tracking number?

We totally get how frustrating it is when you’re eager to track your UPS package but don’t have a tracking number handy. If you ordered something online, the tracking number usually pops up in a separate “your order has shipped” email, so it’s worth digging through your inbox and even the spam folder just in case it landed there. Can’t find it anywhere? No worries—you can always reach out to the retailer directly; they can pull up the tracking info from UPS on your behalf. To make things way easier going forward, try connecting your Gmail account here. Once linked, every UPS order will show up automatically, and you won’t have to keep hunting for tracking numbers again. Give it a shot—it really takes the hassle out of tracking!

What are the alternatives to UPS in United States?

UPS is one of the most recognized parcel carriers in the United States, known for its reliable ground and express shipping services, especially for business-to-business deliveries and time-sensitive shipments. If you’re comparing options or have specific needs, you might also consider FedEx, which shines with its overnight delivery and extensive international reach. USPS is a great choice for affordable, widespread coverage, especially for smaller packages and residential deliveries, while Amazon Logistics is gaining ground with fast, last-mile delivery in many urban areas. Each carrier offers unique advantages, whether it’s speed, price, or network convenience. The good news? Parcel Monitor tracks all these carriers in one spot, so no matter who’s handling your parcel, you can keep tabs on it without hopping between different apps or websites.
