I live rural. My parcel status is "failed to deliver no one home" - I am at home.. Checked surveillance cameras, no one attempted to deliver, drove straight past. Phoning up NZ Post said they don't attempt to deliver that early in the morning as they assume you're asleep.. Why put "Attempted to deliver" on the status then & why not "attempt" at a time when you can... 0/5 stars if i could, extremely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tracking program buggy. Results from inputting parcel ID in search box showed "no item found". Clicking on a icon appearing on another screen found the parcel and provided details

I order medication from Canada was supposed to take 28 days to receive shipment. It was submitted on Dec. 10 and it now is Feb.1 2022. I understand we had a Christmas holiday in there but we are over 1 month after the Holiday and I still don't have my package. I would like a response why this is taking so long. I need to reorder medication and would like to know how long for the next shipment will take. Thank You Dave Sopa

Whether you’re receiving a letter, a parcel from an online order, or sending something within New Zealand or internationally, New Zealand Post handles it. Managing multiple shipments from different couriers is simple too, helping you keep all your deliveries organized effortlessly. It’s like having a personal assistant for your parcels, making tracking stress-free and straightforward.

What do New Zealand Post tracking statuses mean?

When you check your New Zealand Post tracking, you'll see statuses that tell you exactly where your parcel is and what’s happening next. "Picked Up" means your package has been collected and is starting its journey, so no action is needed from you yet. Once it’s "In Transit," your parcel is moving through the network and getting closer to you. When the status changes to "Out for Delivery," your item is on the delivery van and should arrive that day—make sure someone’s home to receive it. "Delivered" means the package has reached its destination, so you can expect it in your hands shortly or check where it was left. Sometimes you might see "Pending," which means your parcel is waiting to be processed or there’s a slight delay; if it stays too long, you might want to contact New Zealand Post for an update. Keeping an eye on these updates helps you stay informed without any guesswork.

Why is my New Zealand Post tracking not updating?

It’s completely normal to feel a bit anxious when your New Zealand Post parcel seems to have stopped moving, but rest assured, this happens more often than you might think. New Zealand Post tracking updates usually show progress as your parcel moves through sorting centers, but there are times when it’s in transit between hubs and doesn’t get scanned right away, which can create a gap in updates. Weekends and public holidays can also slow down scanning activity, making it look like your parcel is stuck when it’s actually on its way. If your shipment is international, customs checks might add some extra time before the next update appears. Typically, New Zealand Post updates tracking information daily, so a pause isn’t unusual. If your parcel hasn’t moved for several days beyond expected times or you’re concerned, reaching out to New Zealand Post directly can help clarify the situation.

What format is a New Zealand Post tracking number?

New Zealand Post tracking numbers usually have 13 characters combining letters and digits, often starting with two letters, followed by nine numbers, and ending with "NZ" — for example, AB123456789NZ. You can find your tracking number in the shipping confirmation email from the retailer, on the parcel label itself, or within your order details on the seller’s website. Once you have it, simply enter your New Zealand Post tracking number above to see where your package is and get the latest updates. It’s the easiest way to keep an eye on your delivery from start to finish.

How long does New Zealand Post take to deliver?

New Zealand Post typically delivers express parcels within 1 to 3 business days domestically, while standard deliveries usually take around 2 to 5 days across New Zealand. For international shipments, express services often reach their destination within 3 to 7 business days, but standard and economy options can vary widely, sometimes taking up to 2 to 4 weeks depending on the destination country and customs processing times. Delivery times can also stretch during busy seasons like holidays, so it’s good to keep that in mind. You can stay on top of your parcel’s journey by signing up for notifications, which give you real-time updates on where your shipment is and when it’s likely to arrive.

Is tracking a New Zealand Post parcel free?

Yes, tracking your New Zealand Post parcel on Parcel Monitor is completely free and super easy—no account or sign-up needed for basic tracking. Just pop in your tracking number, and you’re good to go! If you want to make things even smoother, you can create a free account and connect your Gmail. How do I get delivery notifications for my New Zealand Post parcel?

No more refreshing pages to see where your New Zealand Post delivery is — Parcel Monitor lets you know the moment your parcel moves. You can get email alerts whenever there’s a status update, or even better, push notifications straight to your phone if you use the app. If you connect your Gmail, it’ll automatically spot all your New Zealand Post and other parcels, so you don’t have to type in any tracking numbers yourself. It’s like having a personal assistant keeping an eye on your deliveries. Give it a try by linking your Gmail or grabbing the app—you’ll wonder how you ever tracked parcels without it!

How do I track a New Zealand Post parcel without a tracking number?

It’s frustrating when you’re waiting on a package but don’t have a tracking number in hand. If you ordered something through a retailer, the tracking info usually shows up in a separate “your order has shipped” email—so it’s worth digging through your inbox, including the spam folder, just in case it landed there. If that still comes up empty, reaching out to the retailer directly is your best bet; they can pull the tracking number from New Zealand Post and get you sorted. To avoid this hassle in the future, try connecting your Gmail to Parcel Monitor—this way, every order from New Zealand Post gets detected and tracked automatically, no need to hunt for a number. It’s a simple step that saves loads of time and worry!

What are the alternatives to New Zealand Post in New Zealand?

New Zealand Post is a well-established carrier known for its extensive nationwide network and reliable delivery services across New Zealand, making it a solid choice for standard parcel shipping. However, if you're looking for alternatives, you might consider couriers like CourierPost, which is actually a subsidiary of New Zealand Post but often offers faster express options, or Fastway Couriers, known for competitive pricing and flexible local deliveries. Another option is DHL, which excels in international express shipments and global reach, or NZ Couriers, which focuses on business-to-business deliveries with a strong regional presence. Each carrier has its own strengths depending on whether speed, cost, or coverage matters most to you. The good news? Parcel Monitor tracks all these carriers in one place, so no matter which service your parcel’s traveling with, you can keep tabs on it easily without juggling multiple apps or websites.
