Carrier Information
Yodel International
Yodel International was the cross-border inbound arm of UK delivery network Yodel. Headquartered in Liverpool, the parent carrier was established in 2008 as Home Delivery Network before rebranding to Yodel in 2010. Following InPost’s 2025 acquisition, the Yodel brand was officially retired on 17 July 2026.

How Yodel International Tracking Works
Tracking number
Brand migration notice: On July 17, 2026, Yodel permanently retired its brand and fully merged its doorstep delivery network with InPost.
If you're holding a Yodel reference, track it through InPost — the two networks have been brought together, so delivery, lockers, shops and support are all managed under InPost now.
Yodel's own page explaining what its tracking numbers look like has been taken down along with the rest of the site, so there's no longer an authoritative format to quote. Use the reference exactly as the retailer sent it.
Tracking status
These parcels are handled by InPost…
now, and the statuses cover an inbound journey into the UK:
Pending — we hold the reference and we're watching the InPost network for it
In Transit — clearance into the UK and the run into the hub that serves your address
Out for Delivery — an InPost driver has it on today's round
To Collect — waiting for you at a locker or shop
Delivered — it's arrived
Ordered rarely appears on these, because the parcel was already moving abroad before it entered the UK network. For anything older that shows nothing at all, try the reference on InPost's own tracking.
Supported services
Yodel International was mostly an inbound service rather than an export one — parcels sent from abroad were cleared into the UK, collected from clearance houses by partners, brought into Yodel's national hubs, and delivered to UK addresses. The named services were Yodel International Inbound and Yodel Xpress SP, the latter capped at 3kg and 50cm.
Note that Yodel Direct is a separate service and was not retired in the same move.
What People Ask About Yodel International
A local carrier in that country rather than Yodel. International services like this move your parcel out of the UK and into the destination country’s network, where a national post or a domestic courier takes over for the last leg. Which company that is depends on where the parcel is heading and what the sender arranged. You’ll spot it in your timeline as the moment scans start naming an unfamiliar local carrier — that’s the handover, not a mix-up. From then on every practical lever belongs to that local company: delivery attempts, collection points, safe place instructions and redelivery. Yodel’s part of the job finishes at the handover.
The export hub stage is slower than it looks, because it isn’t a single step. A parcel sitting there waits for a consolidated load to fill, then for transport, then for export processing and paperwork on the way out — and almost none of that produces public scans. Several days are ordinary, and it stretches during peak weeks. Before worrying, read the shape of your timeline: an arrival scan at the hub with nothing after it means your parcel is queuing rather than lost. What you’re waiting for next is an arrival scan in the destination country. If a fortnight passes with no movement from the hub at all, ask the sender to raise it, since they booked the shipment and can get an answer you can’t.
Once a parcel is moving internationally this gets difficult, and the reason is customs rather than stubbornness: the address travels with the declaration, so changing it mid-journey isn’t a simple edit. Your realistic options depend on timing. Before it ships, ask the retailer or sender to correct it — the only genuinely easy moment. After it arrives in the destination country, the local carrier handling the last leg often allows a redirect, a different collection point or a new date through their own service, so wait for that handover and then move quickly. A wrong phone number is worth fixing wherever you can, because the local carrier will often ring rather than abandon a delivery.
That silence is the crossing, and it’s the normal shape of an international parcel rather than a fault. After the departure scan your parcel travels, waits for customs processing at the other end, and gets sorted into the destination country’s network — a stretch that can run days with nothing published, because nobody scans a parcel mid-journey. What appears next is usually an arrival or customs scan from the destination country, often followed by a new tracking number once the local carrier takes over. That new number is where the story continues, so your order page is worth checking for it. If nothing surfaces within a couple of weeks of the UK departure, that’s the moment to ask the sender to chase.
The sender first, and the reasoning is practical. Customs holds are usually resolved by information or by payment: a document about the contents, a value that needs confirming, or duty owed by the receiver. If it’s a document or declaration question, the sender is the one who can supply it. If it’s a payment, whoever handles clearance at your end contacts you directly and the money is settled with them. Carriers rarely give recipients much detail about a hold, whereas they will talk to the account holder who booked the shipment. So gather your tracking numbers and the last scan, hand it to the sender, and keep an eye on your email and texts for a genuine payment request meanwhile.
It depends which direction you’re looking at, and the two work as mirror images. On a parcel leaving the UK, Yodel handles collection and the export leg, then a carrier in the destination country delivers — typically that country’s post or a domestic courier. On a parcel coming into the UK, an overseas carrier moves it as far as the border and a UK company completes it, which may be Yodel or another network depending on what the sender arranged. Either way, the last carrier is the one that matters on delivery day. Your tracking dashboard is the reliable guide: whichever name appears on the most recent scans is who currently holds your parcel.
The retailer is right, and it’s worth knowing why so you can say so with confidence. The contract for the delivery sits between the sender and the carrier, not between you and the carrier — you have no agreement with Yodel, which is precisely why their team can decline to investigate on your behalf. The retailer can open a formal enquiry, and they’re also the party responsible for the order reaching you under consumer rules in the UK and across the EU. So go back to them with your tracking numbers, the last confirmed scan and the date, and ask them to raise it as the sender. If they keep deflecting, that’s the point to mention their obligation directly, and to involve your payment provider if the parcel is genuinely lost.
