Walmart and TikTok recently kicked off their pilot test on Tiktok’s social video app. The retailer chose TikTok because it saw the potential to attract a younger demographic through videos.

During Walmart’s livestream on 18th December, TikTok users were able to shop for products without being directed to another platform. The fashion items were also featured by 10 different TikTok creators during the livestream shopping event. Creators also shared their personal favorites from Walmart fashion. During which, Users can either tap on the pop-up and add items to cart or tap on a shopping cart pin after the shopping event to preview the items before purchasing.

“We’re constantly looking for ways to innovate the shopping experience for our customers,” said Walmart’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer William White in an announcement. “We’re moving faster than ever to find new and improved ways to better serve our customers and meet them where they are. We created this event for, about, and by our community, reflecting the lives, passions, and styles of a diverse set of creators so everyone watching will feel represented, no matter who they are or how they outfit their closet,” he added.
