TechCrunch: Glimpse Enables Airbnb Hosts to Earn Money through Product Placement

Glimpse is providing a platform for Airbnb hosts to earn extra money by showcasing product samples in their accommodations. 

This idea was born when the startup founders were looking for avenues to help direct-to-consumers brands to increase awareness. They eventually settled on Airbnb; since hosts could display new products (and obtain new supplies) whilst allowing their guests to experience the products during their stay.

So how does this work? Airbnb hosts can sign up and browse offers for free product samples to place in their accommodations. Glimpse will work with hosts to showcase these products, including sending a digital “lookbook” to guests at the beginning and end of their stay. Should these samples lead to consumer purchases, hosts can earn an average of $100 to $500 in commission.  

The travel industry has been badly hit by the current COVID-19 pandemic. Regardless, it appears that people are starting to travel again and Glimpse’s 750 current properties are now fully booked through September this year.
