According to the Managing Director and CEO Yogesh Dhingra, the company is looking to enter the highly competitive third-party logistics (3PL) scene starting next year by establishing 15 fulfillment centers and some large warehousing facilities at select locations. Under the 3PL business, Smartr will handle storage, billing, packaging and delivery to fulfill the different logistics needs of customers. Dhingra also mentioned that their Ground Express product will likely be introduced in the second quarter of the forthcoming fiscal year.

Considering the 15 thousand tons of belly space available for faster cargo delivery, the ongoing partnership between airlines and Smartr will prove beneficial for all parties involved. “India will possibly become a hub for the Asia Pacific…The way the government is taking initiatives, India will emerge as a very good destination for any export or import movement will help the domestic industry also,” Dhingra added.
