Renewcell, a pioneer in textile recycling innovation, has unveiled the CIRCULOSE® Supplier Network (CSN), a consortium of forty-seven yarn and textile producers committed to driving the circular economy forward. The primary goal of CSN is to ensure a steady supply of CIRCULOSE® in the market, thereby facilitating the growth of a sustainable and circular fashion industry.

Renewcell made headlines in November 2022 when it inaugurated Renewcell 1, the world's first large-scale chemical textile-to-textile recycling facility located in Sundsvall, Sweden. In December of the same year, the company shipped its inaugural batch of CIRCULOSE® dissolving pulp produced at Renewcell 1. Following the recent acquisition of the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) certification at Renewcell 1, the facility has significantly ramped up production of accredited CIRCULOSE® pulp. Initially capable of producing 60,000 metric tons annually, Renewcell 1 will soon be expanded to manufacture 120,000 metric tons of pulp, equivalent to 600 million t-shirts.

CIRCULOSE® represents a cutting-edge raw material derived from the recovery of cellulose found in discarded clothing. Through an innovative process, this cellulose is transformed into dissolving pulp made entirely from recycled textiles. The pulp serves as a versatile foundation for various types of regenerated fibers, including viscose, lyocell, modal, acetate, and other man-made cellulosic fibers. Notably, Tangshan Sanyou and Yibin Grace are among the suppliers offering viscose made with CIRCULOSE®, with Ekman serving as the commercial partner.

The CIRCULOSE® Supplier Network comprises yarn and textile producers who play a crucial role in streamlining the production and distribution of CIRCULOSE® throughout the supply chain. By becoming part of this network, these early adopters are revolutionizing the fashion industry by gaining access to substantial volumes of CIRCULOSE®. Their participation demonstrates a commitment to the ongoing development of circular solutions and their pivotal role in fostering sustainable textiles and end-products under the CIRCULOSE® brand.

"At Prosperity Textile, we have chosen to develop a denim capsule with CIRCULOSE®, offering brands and retailers solutions towards a less wasteful and more circular fashion industry. Using a breakthrough process, this regenerated fiber is made from 100% textile waste like worn-out jeans and production scraps and fits in with Prosperity’s vision for a more resilient future – without compromising on quality and design,” said Bart Van De Woestyne, Creative Director of Prosperity Textile.
