Macy’s Appoints Massimo Magni as Chief Customer and Digital Officer
In a recent announcement, Macy’s, Inc. revealed that Massimo (Max) Magni has been selected as the new chief customer and digital officer, effective August 21 2023. Reporting directly to Tony Spring, president and CEO-elect of Macy’s, Inc., Max's role will encompass steering the strategic long-term trajectory and expansion of Macy’s digital enterprise, with a strong emphasis on customer-centric strategies that capitalize on data and analytics to elevate the consumer experience across all touchpoints.
According to the press release, Max's responsibilities will span across various areas including the company's e-commerce platforms, mobile applications, marketplace, loyalty initiatives, and gift registry programs. The overarching objective is to present customers with a diverse array of products and unique encounters that offer increased options, exploration, and inspiration. Placed at the core of the customer journey, Max's team will facilitate seamless, personalized, and convenient interactions across Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s digital platforms, in conjunction with in-store experiences boosted by mobile app enhancements, resulting in a more pertinent and interactive shopping process.

Max Magni brings with her an extensive background of working with renowned brands in the realms of apparel, beauty, consumer goods, hospitality, and grocery. Boasting over two decades of experience at McKinsey & Company, Inc., Max was most recently a senior partner co-leading McKinsey’s NeXT Commerce and served as the global leader of the Consumer Growth Practices. In these roles, he played a pivotal role in aiding clients in the development of customer-centric and data-driven strategies to foster profitable and sustainable growth.
