PPTI: Körber to Acquire Siemens Logistics’ Mail and Parcel Business

The international technology group Körber has acquired Siemens Logistics’ global mail and parcel business for US$1.3 billion. It is believed that Siemens’ advanced software and automation technology for logistics providers will “significantly complement” Körber’s supply chain offerings. Customers can greatly benefit from tailored and integrated solutions such as SAP consulting, voice, robotics and material handling.
Leaders from both Siemens and Körber are very satisfied with this deal and believe it would open new valuable opportunities. According to Stephan Seifert, CEO of the Körber Group, “With Siemens Logistics’ mail and parcel business, we broaden and complement our market offering as a globally leading partner to the supply chain and e-commerce industry.”

Ralf P Thomas, Chief Financial Officer of Siemens, also mentioned, “The recent outstanding development of Siemens Logistics’ mail and parcel business demonstrates that our concept for our portfolio companies is enabling us to further develop businesses and make them fit for the future even when they are not part of our core business.”
