UPS-owned Ware2Go is teaming up with Gap's logistics division to provide small businesses with access to enterprise-level logistics and fulfillment capabilities. This move combines Gap's exceptional supply chain network, customer insights, technical proficiency, and digital prowess with Ware2Go's advanced supply chain technology. The service not only caters to small businesses but also to foreign corporations looking to expand into the United States without having to make infrastructure investments in fulfillment.
Through the partnership, SMBs can leverage Gap's distribution network to offer next-day delivery to their customers. They will also be able to get a clearer understanding of their inventory levels and delivery times, as well as receive valuable insights via Ware2Go's digital platform. This way, they can focus their energy on other aspects of business operations such as customer service, marketing and product development.
“This collaboration between Ware2Go and GPS Platform Services is the next chapter in the longstanding relationship between Gap Inc. and UPS. We have a deep shared history and decades-long partnership anchored in customer focus and commitment to innovation. Together we will help SMBs grow their brands with our combined logistics infrastructure and cutting-edge automation,” said Kevin Kuntz, head of global logistics fulfillment at Gap.
Over the last year, Gap has expanded its distribution network by constructing new facilities, making investments in automation and robotics technology, and more. Moving forward, the retailer will prioritize further technology improvements with its $700 million capital expenditure budget to increase automation, speed, and efficiency.
“Our merchants want to remain focused on growing their business and product portfolios, and not worry about the ins-and-outs of their inventory placement or building up a labor workforce to support peak season. This collaboration makes it easier than ever before for SMBs to outsource their fulfillment while still accessing incredible customer support and deep transparency into their inventory placements and delivery times," said Steve Denton, CEO of Ware2Go.
