Pathao
As part of its strategy move towards fintech, Pathao, the largest consumer technology company in Bangladesh, has secured $12 million in a pre-series B funding round. This investment raises Pathao’s total capital to upwards of $50 million – the greatest amount for a pre-series B start-up in Bangladesh. Pathao, which leads the industry in food delivery, logistics, and ride-sharing, has already made significant progress in the fintech sector with the launch of Pay Later. It is a digital wallet as well as Bangladesh's first and biggest buy now pay later option. Over the last two years, Pathao has grown into a financially stable and successful company, and it now intends to use fintech products to provide comprehensive customer service.

The business has successfully secured $2.5 million in a follow-up fundraising round led by PJC and Volition Capital. Cohora plans to use the money to help its early customers in the travel, fashion, and cosmetics industries, increase sales and marketing initiatives, and continue improving its products.

Ecomtent
Pre-seed investment of $850,000 has been completed by Toronto-based artificial intelligence and e-commerce firm Ecomtent MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund (MaRS IAF) led the round, with participation from Techstars, eBay Ventures, and an unidentified group of angel investors, including executives from the retail and tech industries. Ecomtent's growth will be accelerated by this most recent funding round, which will enable the firm to grow its workforce, improve its AI technology, and scale operations in order to satisfy the increasing demand from companies navigating the world of AI-powered search.
