Euronet Worldwide’s payment solutions provider epay Australia is collaborating with China's Alipay+ to facilitate cross-border mobile payments for Australian merchants. Starting Quarter 1 2023, 8000 epay retailers including David Jones will get access to Alipay+ e-wallet partners all over Asia: AlipayHK (Hong Kong), GCash (The Philippines), Kakao Pay (South Korea), TrueMoney (Thailand) and Touch ‘n Go eWallet (Malaysia).
On top of payment functions, merchants will also be able to create and distribute discounts directly through the e-wallet super apps. These marketing solutions offer the opportunity for upselling and convenience for customers. Due to the one-stop integration feature provided by Alipay+, payment services and merchants no longer require additional technical adaption, which makes it a simple and efficient way to engage with customers in Asia.
The partnership is a win-win for both companies. Epay Australia retailers can start accepting international mobile payment methods powered by Alipay+ immediately, from multiple Asian destinations such as the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Statistics show that the partnership helps merchants in Australia connect to over one billion consumers in Asia through epay Australia’s terminals and selected integrated partners.
