DHL Expands CFS Space in Bangladesh to Support Growing Trade Demands

DHL Global Forwarding has expanded its warehouse area for container freight in Bangladesh to keep up with the growing demand for clothing exports worldwide. Investing more than 2 million EUR, the company has built a state-of-the-art container freight station (CFS) in Chittagong that have a capacity of 70,000 sqft.
Bangladesh's exports for the fiscal year 2022 have reached a historical record of 52 billion USD due to the steady growth of its strong RMG sector, which has resulted in a 34.3% increase in export earnings compared to the previous year. RMG is a significant contributor to the country's exports, accounting for over 80% of all exports. The top markets for RMG are the United States, Germany, Spain, France and the United Kingdom.
“With Bangladesh being the second-largest readymade garments exporter in the world, businesses must ensure that they employ the right supply chain solutions to ensure that their exports can reach consumers in a cost efficient and timely manner. These facilities will support the growth of less than container load shipments especially from the rising demand of e-commerce,” added Feroz Jahangir, COO & Head of Value Added Services, DHL Global Forwarding Bangladesh.
DHL Global Forwarding has constructed state-of-the-art CFS facilities in Chittagong, Bangladesh's largest seaport city. This strategic location provides quick access to Chittagong Port, which handles over 92% of the country's import-export trade. This expansion will enable goods to be shipped out promptly on ocean freight. Additionally, the dedicated facilities incorporate green operations to reduce carbon emissions.
