CSA: Cosmetics Brand Laura Mercier Enters the Metaverse With Debut Virtual Store

Laura Mercier now offers a very interactive buying experience in the metaverse. The cosmetics company has launched World of Beauty, its first virtual experience e-commerce site. In collaboration with the Obsess metaverse platform, Laura Mercier is providing a web-based VR/AR experience that is 3D and 360 degrees in scope and offers high-definition (HD) visuals.
There are three virtual, interactive chambers to explore in the World of Beauty, each of which was created with the Parisian flair that is synonymous with the brand. The first chamber shows customers how to apply Laura Mercier makeup using the brand's "Flawless Face" method, complete with a virtual color finder.
The second space features carefully compiled product collections and an expedited checkout process. Last but not least, an interactive 3D unboxing of Laura Mercier's "Wrapped with Love" holiday collection is shown. The platform also includes a hide-and-seek game that uses gamified aspects to entice users to try the product out for free before making a full purchase.
"Now is a wonderful time for our consumers to explore Laura Mercier via a new, digitalized lens that gives an immersion into the brand and its history," Diane Kim, Global Brand President of Laura Mercier, remarked. "The interactive store displays the brand's rich history while giving customers the chance to explore, discover, and try out products."
Neha Singh, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Obsess, also shared her thoughts on the collaboration as follows:
"We are excited to partner with Laura Mercier to develop an immersive virtual beauty experience that allows consumers a wonderful new way to discover, learn about, and be inspired by the brand's famous products and aesthetic." Visitors can "try on" things electronically to find their "perfect match," and they can also use the interactive holiday gifting area to find amazing gift ideas for everyone on their list.
