Chicago Business Journal: JLL and Quiet Platforms Work Together to Launch Fulfillment Centers Across the US

JLL and Quiet Platforms, a fully owned subsidiary of American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (NYSE: AEO), have announced a collaboration to speed up the building of new innovative fulfillment facilities around the United States in 2023 to service retailers and brands in the Quiet Platforms supply chain network. The partnership between the two firms will be a first in the logistics real estate industry, allowing for rent to be calculated as a proportion of revenue.

In order to assist all of the retailers and brands in the Quiet Platforms network in providing outstanding experiences to their end consumers, Quiet Platforms President Shekar Natarajan has stated that the company would be swiftly expanding its countrywide network of fulfillment facilities:

"We are excited to engage with the professionals at JLL to implement a novel, variable-expense model that provides greater real estate-level flexibility to speed up the expansion of our facilities network."

In a statement, JLL's International Director of Industrial Brokerage for the Americas, Kris Bjorson, expressed his company's enthusiasm for collaborating with Quiet Platforms and its pursuit of prospects that provide a malleable transaction structure:

"We're finding innovative approaches across corporate subleases, retail-to-industrial conversions, and speculative industrial developments to help the firm achieve its aim of a responsive, dynamic network."

To further serve e-commerce and omnichannel retail clients, Quiet Platforms has partnered with JLL to expand its edge fulfillment network across the country. The inventory science and technology platform offered by Quiet Platforms enables businesses to enhance the click-to-deliver experiences of their customers in terms of speed, service quality, and cost-effectiveness.
