This week we explored the state of e-commerce in Singapore, a country small in size but one with the 15th largest export economy in the world.

Did you know an impressive 99% of parcels at collection points and lockers in Singapore were delivered successfully? Similar to our findings in the Australia infographic, collection points and parcel lockers seem to be growing in popularity in Singapore, with 35% of parcels using this alternative – perhaps to reduce the hassle of rescheduling failed delivery attempts with carriers.

Another interesting finding was the top 3 countries where parcels in Singapore originated from: China (21%), USA (18%), and Malaysia (11%).

We also observed a majority of merchants listed on popular shopping platforms in Singapore are based in China or the US.For instance, some of the top mobile shopping apps used by Singaporeans are Taobao, Shopee, Lazada, Amazon, Amazon Prime, and ASOS; while top web-based shopping sites are Amazon, Lazada, Apple, Taobao, and Qoo10.

Did our findings surprise you? Keep a lookout for our next infographic for more data-driven insights on the e-commerce logistics industry!
