The OneQuestion from the host Rushit Shah: How is YOUR company recruiting talent geared for Sustainable Supply Chains?

In this episode, Inge shared why sustainability is a business-winning strategy. She shared four tips on how to build a more sustainable supply chain. For them, the top priority is keeping people safe and it has been like that for a long time, even before sustainability became a topic in the world, saying: “A company is not sustainable if their employees are not healthy.” 

When it comes to energy and emissions, it is true that it will be expensive but there are opportunities that come with it. She shared some of the initiatives and alternatives that can make processes more environmentally friendly and sustainable. It is also important to consider and take into account who the green energy business partners are for the company- whether or not sustainability is one of their top priorities and is it part of their core values. Last and definitely not least is looking at collaboration for more sustainable ways of doing business, which is proven effective and will continuously drive sustainability forward.

Inge currently serves as the Group Chief Supply Chain & Sustainability Officer at Boortmalt, the world’s leading malting company, with a production capacity of 3 million tonnes.  She’s been with Boortmalt for over a year, she was previously the Global Supply Chain and Sustainability Lead for Malt Division at Cargill. Having started her career at P&G, Inge has 30 years of experience in building supply chains for multiple multinational organizations across Europe and EMEA. Inge holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (Netherlands).
