Guguram-based startup ANS Commerce is striving to be the favorite platform for D2C brands in India. The company offers a comprehensive service package and supports brands by managing their e-commerce value chain with deep expertise and a technology-based approach.
The startup was founded in 2017 by Vibhor Sahare, Sushant Puri, Nakul Singh, and Amit Monga, all of whom have extensive experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, brand building, and operations. In the beginning, the company only provided consultancy in marketing for brands. But as they saw how international brands struggled to reach their full potential and successfully scale up, ANS Commerce decided to handle “everything e-commerce”.
Their first contract was with an FMCG company that wanted to develop a D2C brand, which has shown promising results:
“We operated out of a basement office and had many late nights shipping products and solving customer pain points. By the end of our first year, we had grown to 50 people, and realised that brands were increasingly realising the importance of ecommerce but lacked the skills to manage the complexities involved,” Vibhor, one of the four founders recalls.
At the end of 2017, they successfully launched Kartify, which provides marketing solutions to D2C brands in order to bring their products directly to the market. The launch of Kartify brought a sustainable source of income for ANS Commerce to develop in the next stage.
The platform applies a revenue-share model and also charges monthly fees for their end-to-end services. They now serve over 100 clients and plan to double the number by the end of this year.
E-commerce is now a fast-growing and lucrative market for companies like ANS Commerce to dig deep into. According to Avendus Capital, the D2C sector will be worth $100 billion by 2025, with over 6,000 homegrown brands from India. Globally, other similar platforms saw positive growth namely Shopify, Baozun (China), aCommerce (South East Asia), and Upaghna Ventures in India.
Over the next 18 months, the main objectives of ANS Commerce are to recruit more partners, enhance their products and bring more value to their customers:
“We aspire to drive more than one percent of all ecommerce sales in India by 2026 and be the preferred partner for every brand in the country for ‘all things ecommerce’,” Vibhor shared.
