Walmart recently announced its partnership with Shopify to open a Walmart Marketplace for small businesses using Shopify – expanding the reach of these brands to Walmart’s Marketplace’s 120 million monthly visitors.
Shopify will be powering a portfolio of third-party sellers looking to grow their business using various channels, allowing them to easily list their items on Walmart Marketplace. At the same time, Walmart hopes to attract 1,200 Shopify sellers through this integration, giving Walmart customers a wide variety of brands and products to shop from.
“Shopify has a long history of helping small businesses leverage scale, and we’re proud to be part of the solution that is helping customers and other retailers,” said Jeff Clementz, Vice President, Walmart Marketplace.
With Walmart’s U.S. e-commerce business already growing 74% last quarter during the pandemic, it would be interesting to see how this partnership will further boost e-commerce growth for both Walmart and Shopify sellers
