Fossil reported consistent triple-digit growth through its e-commerce site and third-party platforms such as Amazon and Tmall. It is expected that the brand’s digital business will contribute about a third of its total sales by the end of 2020. In the second quarter last year, Fossil’s digital sales contributed just 13% of its total sales.
For this quarter, it has been reported that Fossil’s digital sales through all of its e-commerce channels and third-party sellers grew by about 21%. To maintain this growth, the brand has made ongoing efforts to optimize its mobile site, including upgrades to enable a smoother checkout process for online customers.
“We’ve accelerated our investments in e-commerce over the last 18 months, and we just implemented our new state-of-the-art platform that is very scalable,” Kosta Kartsotis, chairman and CEO of Fossil, said during the earnings call. “The system is very robust and highly automated and significantly increases our ability to build larger and more engaged communities through personalization, automation, and the use of data.”
