As Nordstrom saw the importance of the supply chain to better serve its customers, the fashion retailer announced that Alexis DePree, Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer, will become the newest member of its executive team.
DePree brings to the table years of experience in supply chain transformation as she was the Vice President of sorting centers and planning for the Americas in Amazon.
Despite suffering a loss during the pandemic outbreak, the retailer’s early investment in omnichannel infrastructure helped the company adapt to the change in buying habits and boom in e-commerce. The pandemic challenged the supply chain and highlighted capacity constraints as a result of high demand. Adding in talents into the supply chain, Nordstrom hopes to grow its omnichannel fulfillment capabilities even further.
“With the acceleration of digital sales to 54 percent this year, our supply chain network must be ready to serve our customers across every aspect of our business — from full-price and off-price to online and in-store,” Pete Nordstrom, Chief Brand Officer and President of Nordstrom said in a release.
