Target-owned online grocery service, Shipt, is offering a pay-per-order option to cater to a wider variety of customer needs. This allows customers to purchase delivery passes for single-use or for multiple orders instead of committing to an annual membership.

Shipt provides delivery from local retailers offering groceries, household essentials, and medications. Shoppers can now purchase Shipt passes for one, three, or five orders for $10, $9, or $8 per delivery respectively.

During the initial stages of testing, Shipt received positive results pertaining to the pay-per-order single-use passes and packs from non-members. After launching the passes, the company saw a 25% increase in new customers. The company also found that 80% of their new users first began shopping on the platform via these pay-per-order passes.

“The challenges consumers have faced during the pandemic further strengthened our resolve to make Shipt as accessible to as many customers as possible.” – Kelly Caruso, CEO of Shipt
