Social commerce has been emerging as a new channel for brands to expand their customer pool, especially in the midst of Covid-19. TikTok recently extended the partnership deal with Shopify to the Middle East after their collaboration last year.
“We are very excited to announce this partnership with Shopify in the Middle East, giving merchants a unique platform to reach new audiences in an engaging and creative way like nowhere else.” according to Shant Oknayan, general manager of global business solutions for TikTok in the Middle East, Africa, Turkey, and Pakistan.
Research shows that nearly 50% of TikTok users discovered new products via brand advertisements on the platform. TikTok has since launched several initiatives to keep up, from new ad formats to brand certification. Oknayan added:
“As we continue to develop our platform to bring businesses of all sizes innovative and fun ways to connect with new customers, as well as get the best out of their campaigns, we are confident this partnership with Shopify is a big step in this direction and the start of a promising future in the e-commerce arena.”
This partnership will help Shopify’s merchants reach new customers through Tiktok’s platform and TikTok will benefit from business ads when the function is integrated into the Shopify dashboard.
