In this episode, Evan Smith shared how they started Altana AI and working with multinational companies around the world- connecting their vendor master data and building materials into a global map. One of their goals is to build a google map for supply chain. Evan also mentioned that one of their future projects is to offer a risk transfer solution to their clients and customers. When asked what machine learning means to them, Evan said that, “it is being able to pick up patterns from the data that become reflected in a model that then make predictions or inferences in the presence of new data.” In addition, he also talked about their response on sustainability and looking for the right candidates.

Before Panjiva, Evan co-managed a private equity partnership and the family office sponsor and served as the CEO of IMDU Technologies, a wholly-owned portfolio company providing textile supply chain automation software.
